- Location: Held at Weedon Island Preserve
- For youths ages 8-13
- $265
- Before/After Care is available 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM for $45 additional fee
Campers go back to the times of megalodon sharks, roaming megafauna like giant sloths, Native Americans making fishing nets for our shores, pioneers living off the land, and early settlers creating what we now call this area of Tampa Bay and Pinellas County.
Explore the natural and human history of Pinellas County's second-largest preserve, the Weedon Island Preserve. Jump back in time with Florida’s megafauna like giant sloths and megalodon sharks. Be ready to empty your pockets and test your dip netting and fish seining skills as Native Americans did for centuries. Then, put on your hiking boots, and grab your naturalist guide – it’s time to hike Weedon’s coastal forest exploring as European settlers did. Also, gear up for some crafts, stories, and other exciting activities involving time exploration.
Join us for a fun week of following time through fossils, distinctive art, artifact fakers, movie productions, and more until we reach the present-day human and wildlife balance now found at the Weedon Island Preserve.
